Melike Arslan
Welcome to my professional website!
I am a Lecturer at the Institute for International Management and Entrepreneurship at Loughborough University in London.
I was previously a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne (2022-2024), and at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University (2021-2022).
I have received my PhD from the Sociology Department at Northwestern University in July 2021.
I mainly study the legal and regulatory infrastructure of market economies from a comparative and international perspective.
My previous works on antitrust (competition) laws, corporate bankruptcy laws, transnational legal indicators, and the legal foundations of money were published in the Socio-Economic Review, Review of International Political Economy, Journal of Public Policy, International Journal of Law in Context and Annual Review of Law and Social Science.
In several work-in-progress projects, I look at the variations in state industrial policies within the U.S., social, legal and organizational foundations of long-term actions, economic consultants' impact on legal decisions, and legal professions' responses to the internationalization of laws.
